Actress Olivia Munn who is preparing for her role in the new X=Men file: Apocalypse has made no secret in the past of getting help to deal with her own issues. She spoke in the past about how she sought the help of a Hypnotherapist to help her overcome OCD and trichotillomania also known as hair pulling.
Now she has been speaking to the magazine Good Housekeeping and explained that her motivation to exercise needed a boost, so once again she sought some help.
“One day I told him I didn’t work out, and he said, ‘What do you mean?’ I replied, ‘I don’t know. I just kind of don’t. I yo-yo.’ He said, ‘You have to! It’s good for your anxiety and depression.’ So during one of our sessions, he hypnotised me.
I’m not exaggerating: That was on a Friday, and by Monday I was working out every day at 6 a.m. If I missed a session, I’d double up and do it the next day. Now I feel so much stronger. I remember running up the steps one day and thinking, This is strange. I could do this a hundred times and be totally OK.”
Sometimes, although we know that getting out and having more exercise is good for us we need a little help. The feeling that comes from exercise and the fitness that it brings can be wonderful, but if you cannot motivate yourself to start then it could well elude you. By getting some help with the motivation you can really look forward to enjoying your exercise and feeling all of the benefits that it brings to your mind and your body.
